This comparison of film to digital shows clearly that for 35mm film, digital shooting with high-end cameras is superior. What is disturbing with 35mm film is that the filmgrain disturbs the image as soon as the ISO speed settings are comparable - to get better results than with 200 ASA film, I used a ISO 100 film. But still, the grain is limiting resolution and the entire image on 35mm film is less well defined. This does not mean, that film does not bring any merits anymore, I am primarily a film-shooter (on 4x5, 120/220 and 5x7) but 35mm film - well, you can see yourself)

Please also note, that I did not apply any sharpening of the digital file, as this influences the results dramatically. This will be shown in the main review a bit later on!
